290– Happy Valentine’s Day

Liebster Award

So, I was kindly nominated for the Liebster Award by Sara last October (better late than never, am I right?), and I finally got around to posting this.

First off, I want to thank Sara for nominating me. I am honored that my fellow bloggers enjoy my comics in such a way. Check out her blog, which appears to be inactive now but still full of great content!

With that being said…

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  2. Answer the 11 questions given to you
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers
  4. Ask your nominees 11 questions
  5. Notify your nominees once you have uploaded your post

1. if you could swap places with a celebrity for one day who would it be?

I’m going with Ed Sheeran. It must be nice to live a relatively drama-free life, cozied up with a nice family in a nice mansion. Also, I’d like the ability to write a really good song in a matter of hours.

2. one positive thing about yourself?

I like to think that I have excellent taste in music. Ask me for recommendations from any genre anytime!

3. candy or chocolate?

I like both, but the bitter aftertaste of chocolate is unpleasant sometimes. So, candy.

4. favorite art medium?

I used to be into acrylics, but I like doing digital art more now. It’s just so convenient and mess-free. I don’t think it can ever replace paper and pencil, but it’s time we start treating digital as a real medium.

5. favorite place in nature?

Beaches. The cold ones especially. They are so dreamy.

6. what’s your favorite riddle?

I feel like I should include a clever one from The Hobbit.

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

Answer: Darkness. Thanks Gollum and Google.

7. what’s the most ironic thing you’ve seen happen?

Some police officer was giving a dude a speeding ticket in front of a sign that read “Lucky Drive.”

8. cringy memory?

I once sat down in a chair that didn’t exist.

I ended up bending my legs far more than I anticipated to.

9. which two people would you like to see in a movie together? ( can be absolutely anybody )

Anne Hathaway for sure. She’s incredibly talented and versatile. I think she would kill it in any kind of movie. Same goes for Leonardo DiCaprio.

10. have you ever pranked someone? if so – what did you do?

I short-sheeted my sister’s bed. She didn’t notice, and I was disappointed. I guess I’ll go back to Whoopee cushions.

11. suggest a one word story theme.

Apathy. I believe that apathy is the opposite of love. I’m tired of love stories, so could someone please write an apathy story?

My Questions

  1. Let’s start off with a controversial topic: Is classical music boring?
  2. Do you like anchovies? If you don’t, why not? If you do, would you like to be classified as an endangered species? (No hate to anchovy-lovers; I am in fact one myself.)
  3. Any TV series you’ve binged lately?
  4. What’d you do during quarantine? Was it fun?
  5. What’s you favorite color combination? (Not to be confused with the notorious favorite color question.)
  6. What song describes your life currently? (Not to be confused with the notorious favorite song question.)
  7. Okay, now think of your favorite song. If it were made into a candle, what would the scent be?
  8. Okay, now think of your favorite candle scent. If it were made into a song, what would it sound like?
  9. How often do you get your hair cut?
  10. You have been shoved onto the dance floor by complete strangers at a wedding. (To clarify, this is someone else’s wedding, not yours. We would hope there would be no complete strangers at your own wedding.) What do you do?
  11. What were you like three years ago? How would you rate this previous version of yourself on a scale of one to five stars?

That’s a wrap! Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your continued support.

Much love, Joy
